Indy LB to Purdue
The Boilermakers might have nabbed their biggest commitment to date Friday, picking up one of the best players from the state of Indiana.
Multiple sources this afternoon indicate that Indianapolis linebacker Joe Gilliam has committed to the Boilermakers, becoming the 10th verbal in Danny Hope's 2010 class.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound senior at Southport High School had narrowed his list to five, including Purdue, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Nebraska and Northwestern. He had 11 offers total, including from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State.
Gilliam, a three-star 'backer, is ranked as the seventh-best recruit in the state, making him the highest such in-state recruit for Hope in his brief tenure as the head coach at Purdue.
