NICEVILLE - Before the fans were even settled into their seats in a packed Eagle Stadium Niceville already had given them something to cheer about. 35 Seconds into the game the Eagles (8-0) had a 14 - 0 lead over Daphne (4-6) with the big play potential on full display.

It didn't take long for star running back Roy Finch to settle in after missing the first three quarters of last week's game due to a "family issue", the first play from scrimmage Finch took the ball 55 yards down the sideline and into the end zone and the Eagles never looked back.

After the ensuing kickoff Trojan quarterback Sam Gresham had his deflected pass intercepted by Tanner Hansen which led to the immediate 35 yard strike from Kyle McDorman to his favorite target Kody Williams. Niceville added a 41 yard score from Finch followed by a 44 yard pitch and catch from McDorman to senior wideout Aaren Moore which set up a 33 yard scoring strike from quarterback CJ Scroggins to Finch. The eagles added another touchdown when McDorman hit Finch from 29 yards out to give the Eagles a commanding 35 point lead going into the half.

McDorman would finish the night 7 of 10 with 147 yards and two touchdowns while hitting three different receivers. Scroggins added two touchdowns of his own and the Eagles threw for 185 yards as a team. Finch would end up with four touchdowns and 188 all-purpose yards in just one half of play.

Daphne's offense failed to produce against the tough Eagle defense with Michael White and Daniel Spencer leading the way each with sacks. Daphne's lone offensive score came from a 52 yard catch and run from wildcat quarterback Israel Lamprakes to Darious Baker. Daphne added a 98 yard kick return from T.J. Yeldon in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles added two scores in the second half with a five yard pass to Williams from Scroggins and a 2 yard rush from senior fullback Garrett Fletcher. The eagles had a nice balanced running game with Fletcher and Spencer Pullen adding 57 and 83 yards respectively to go along with Finch's 122. Aaren Moore ended up with 4 catches and 66 yards.

"We set the tone early in the trenches and that's where we won the game" said junior lineman Josh Gordon, Senior lineman Mark Barrett attributed the success to an intense level of focus stating "at this point we do not want to overlook anybody". Finch echoed Barrett's words and stated "It was a great win, we all fought extremely hard and won this game as a team, it was an amazing effort from everybody and those are the games we love to win."
