THE OUTLOOK: - Over a span of 30 years the University Christian has accumulated six state-titles with their latest coming in 1994.
After an 18-year drought the wait is over after University Christian defeated Warner Christian on the road last week to advance to the Class 2A state championship in Orlando.
Head Coach David Penland has brought back the punishing and dominating brand of football like University Christian teams of the past.
The Christians are averaging 289.1 rushing yards a game while putting up 46.6 points per game while the defense is holding opponents to an average of 13.6 points a game.
On the offensive side of the ball it's all been about the play of Richmond commitment Jeremiah Hamlin who has accumulated 789 rushing yards and 12 TD's on the year. None more important came than his 64-yard touchdown run with 2:20 left in the game to book University Christians ticket to Orlando.
Opposite the field will be Dade Christian, a team that ended the Cinderella season of First Baptist Academy last week defeating the Lions, 27-13.
The Crusaders are one game away from cementing a perfect season and have defeated their opponents in similar fashion as the team they'll play Friday night.
Senior quarterback Gary Sampson has been the go-to guy for the Crusaders doing it all.
Sampson leads the Crusaders in rushing (1024 yards) and has shown the ability to pass the ball effectively throwing for 917 yards and 8 TD's on the season.
Against First Baptist, Sampson was the difference maker on offense playing a balanced game combining for 200 total-yards of offense and 2 TD's.
Defensively the Crusaders are solid not giving up more than 26-points in one game all season. Against a potent First Baptist rushing attack, the Crusaders held the Lions to just 182 rushing yards as a unit.
A week prior, the Crusaders knocked out on the state's most heralded running backs, Kelvin Taylor on the road in Glades Day.
ANALYSIS: This will be a grind-it-out type of game where both teams will try and play keep away from the other.
It will be interesting to see how both teams try and attack the rushing game because they both do it so exceptionally well.
University Christian will turn to their North Carolina commitment Marquis Haynes to disrupt Sampson because the last thing UC wants is for Sampson to get comfortable throwing the ball, something that he has proven he can do as of late.
I don't expect much throwing to be done in this game because it's simply not these teams M.O. but I do expect it to be a very physical with some big plays coming on defense.
Which team can capitalize on turnovers could be the turning point.
I've stuck with University Christian all post-season long and I'll stand by my local team (In a close one).
PREDICITON: University Christian 28 , Dade Christian 21
