Corey Holmes of St. Thomas Aquinas is starting to garner a lot of attention.

The six-foot-one, 172-pound wide receiver has multiple scholarship offers, including the most recent from Oklahoma on March 12. His top schools are Michigan, Miami, and Notre Dame. However, despite "The U" being included in that list, he is currently leaning towards leaving the state for his college playing career.

"I've been playing since the age of eight," said Holmes, who is ranked No. 224 in the Rivals top 250 for the class of 2014 and is considered quite the playmaker. "It's something I love to do and I will always love football."

He helped lead his school to the 2012 state championship and had three catches for 167 yards and a touchdown in the state title game.

Holmes isn't content to rest on his laurels though, and says that his goal his senior season is to win another state championship 'and to prove to everybody I'm one of the top wide receivers in the nation.'

"I want to get 1200-plus yards," he added.

Despite understanding there is still some work to do, like increasing his strength, he also recognizes his substance.

"I feel like my strengths are my route running, my abilities to get off my jams and to catch the ball," said Holmes, who has a 405-pound squat, a 39-inch vertical and runs a 4.48 in the 40.

St. Thomas Aquinas is certainly a storied program, having won seven state titles, and two mythical national championships. Holmes understands what it means to play for such a school, saying, "I'm honored to be part of the St. Thomas Squad. It was in middle school that I made the decision to come here, and it's been a great experience."

Coming off an MVP performance at this past weekend's Nike Football Training Camp, Holmes will be attending the Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour in Miami on March 24.

There is no doubt that Corey Holmes is one to keep an eye on in 2013.
