THE OUTLOOK -- Missing on this year's version of Dr. Phillips' Roster might be THE marquee name, but not missing is the senior-laden talent and a group of underclassmen that are significant contributors. That marquee name actually belongs to Timber Creek's Jacques Patrick, who rushed for over 2,000 yards as a sophomore, and is riding the rocket ship up the recruiting boards before his junior season has cranked up.
Timber Creek will have to vastly improve their effort on offense at home this week from last if they want to win the first-ever matchup of these two programs. The defense wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either and the Panthers have even more options than the extremely talented NSB squad they faced on the road. Perhaps the most important factor for Timber Creek on offense isn't at the skill position though. The Wolves might not necessarily match DPHS' size in the trenches man-for-man, but they've got to make sure they get it done in order for any of their threats to get lose; whether between the tackles or not. Good news for TC is last week was last week, and the slate is clean.
Dr. Phillips appears to be poised for another run in 8A North, with the steady rise in play from their talented returnees like Gaines, Proctor, and Kerry Bernard along with what promises to be a brutally physical front-seven on D the Panthers look to be a fairly safe bet to meet the standard that many have come to expect.
