OCALA -- IMG Academy Ascenders downed Trinity Catholic 47-23 to improve to 4-0.
The Ascenders got off to a rocky start when a blocked punt in the first quarter resulted in a safety for the Celtics.
However, it was all-IMG Academy after that. The Ascenders converted turnovers into touchdowns, storming back to score 33 points that went unanswered until late in the third quarter.
A fourth-quarter rally for Trinity was too little, too late, as the Ascenders won handily to remain undefeated
Leading the way for the offense was Tuscaloosa, Ala. native Bo Scarbrough, who reached the end zone five times on the night; four on the ground and one receiving.
The bruising running back scored from 24 and 25 yards out on the ground, and added his receiving touchdown when he hauled on a screen pass for 21-yards - in the first half alone.
Scarbrough went right back to work in the second half, scoring early with a 44-yard run, and adding another six-yard touchdown for good measure in the fourth. The Alabama commit finished with 185 total yards (153 rush, 32 rec) and five total touchdowns (four rush, one rec).
The defense came up big, with cornerbacks Matt Boateng and Jamorien Hill each intercepting Trinity QB Reid Carlton (13/26, 174 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT) on the night.
Both interceptions set up Ascender touchdowns. The defense also added a score of their own when Toronto, Canada native, LB Andrew Smith, returned a Celtics fumble for the final touchdown.
