Booker T., Central, 1-2 - Miramar moves to 8
The more things change, the more they remain the same.
Booker T. Washington knocked off #21 Miami Jackson 35-6 and Miami Central blew by nationally-ranked Ramsay (NJ) Don Bosco Prep 50-13 - couple that with #18 Miramar's win over St. Thomas Aquinas 22-20 and the Tornados and Rockets are back at 1-2 in the FlaVarsity Top 25.
Davie University School, which owns the state's longest winning streak (16 straight), and Manatee tied for third. Orlando Dr. Phillips is fifth, followed by Lake City-Columbia, then St. Thomas Aquinas.
Miramar's two-point win over the Raiders, the Patriots' third victory in a row over St. Thomas, jumped Miramar into the top 10.
The Patriots moved up 10 spots to No. 8 - by far the biggest mover of the week.
Four teams lost which were ranked in last week's poll, two of them to other ranked teams. Needless to say the two that lost to unranked teams (Jacksonville Bolles and American Heritage-Delray) fell from the poll.
Here is the latest rankings - compiled from 15 sportswriters and broadcasters that cover high school football.
