PLAYERS TO WATCH:
THE OUTLOOK -- Trinity Christian looks to make it three in a row after a 36-8 win last year and a 45-7 victory in 2011. They also look to make it four in a row in 2013. Though they only beat Madison 6-3 last week, they outscored their first two opponents 72-8.
The Christian lost their season opener at Highlands. They are also on a three game winning streak and come into this game with much more momentum. UC beat Christ's Church 45-0 last Friday for their second shutout this season. Overall, they have outscored opponents 138-57.
Trinity struggled last week with a stout Madison County defense. If the Conquerors are going to win the 3A title, they've got to develop a consistent passing game. Teams are going to continue to key on Ford (Louisville commit) and force Toliver to beat them with his arm. Last week he beat Madison with his legs, scrambling on fourth down and then picking up a fumble and scooting eight yards for the score.
Since opening with a loss to Kentucky power Highlands, the Christians have been dominant. The running game of Howe and company has opened up the passing game. With big Josh Allen (North Carolina) and Joshua Nichols up front, why not.
However, with Holland, and company in the secondary for Trinity - a run first, run often game plan might be in order.
