Tampa Catholic linebacker Tre Watson will keep his diary for each week, and give us a perspective on the recruiting trail. His mother, Christa Phillips-Watson - will also contribute from a parent's perspective.
Here is week 9 - Total domination!
43-0. Another dominant win for us. We are showing these teams that we are no joke and its huge for us! Focused on getting better and getting ready for Frostproof this week. They have more nationally ranked recruits than we do but they haven't been playing like we have...ANY GIVEN FRIDAY!
As far as recruiting goes, the past couple of weeks have seemed eerily quiet. I got calls from the normal crew of schools who loyally and actively recruit me. From what I have heard, October and November are when things really pick up for seniors. We shall see!!!
Still waiting on confirmation of my official visits. It looks like some of them might have to be after the season ends which isn't really what I planned but you gotta do what you gotta do. I've been hearing great things from Illinois, just don't know when I will be able to get up there for a visit. And Florida Atlantic is still trying to get the visit set for the Marshall game, and I hope we can get that done ASAP.
I'm still waiting on Boston College, don't know what they are going to do yet and we are kind of running out of time. But they have been more aggressive with communication, jut no offer yet. This process can really weigh on you if you let it.
Oh well, there are some things that are out of my control, so I just have to focus on what I can. I will keep playing hard and eventually what God had planned for me to happen will happen and that's how I stay sane...my faith!
I went to the USF vs Miami game Saturday. It's been painful to watch what USF is going through. Growing pains I suppose. Through everything, I'm happy for local guys and acquaintances Nigel Harris and Nate Godwin, two Tampa area true freshman who have been given the opportunity to start and contribute. Already making an impact and that is a blessing.
Progress reports this week have me coming in at straight A's again...I am only three quarters away from my lifelong goal of completing school from K-12th grade without ever making anything less than an A!
Personal goal setting is very important and I've had to be a little selfish to accomplish this. But it's been worth it to give up the party life and active social life so that I can have the future I want for myself!
Looking forward to the road trip to Frostproof Friday...to continuing to prove my and my teams critics wrong every week! Motivation and Domination are on my mind!
Be blessed and Go Crusaders!
