Tampa Catholic linebacker Tre Watson will keep his diary for each week, and give us a perspective on the recruiting trail. His mother, Christa Phillips-Watson - will also contribute from a parent's perspective.
Here is week 10 - Think Pink!
The stories from our District win over Frostproof will be one for the ages!
225 penalty yards...That should be a passing yard stat, not penalties. We had to battle for our lives to get out of there 2-0 in the district.
Guess what though? We got it done and we're sitting in the driver's seat. All we have to do is keep working, taking it week by week, and play out our schedule winning each of our games, specifically, our district games. Then.... well it's the road to that ring!
The weekend got even better being on hand to watch USF pull out its first win of the season over Cincinnati and Coach Taggart's first win as head coach! I'm not gonna lie, I was impressed by the way USF played that night, especially after they fumbled the ball away on their first drive. But they came back and got an incredible win!
I believe it will definitely help them out with recruiting; although they still have work to do. True freshman and hometown boys Nate Godwin and Nigel Harris are showing that young players can have an immediate impact!
Working on solidifying my first official visit. Although it's still a couple of weeks down the line, I still can't wait to get it done. I think getting these visits in will be huge. Being there and getting the feeling of the culture of the school will really be that deciding factor. I feel like it's just going to be one of those things, that when it happens, I'll know.
Getting some new interest this week, we will see if new opportunities come to fruition. Until then, I'm going to enjoy my week off!
I'm going to go see my brother, Smoke(Derrick Ingram) play Friday night. I don't normally get to support him. I've also got some volunteering at Metropolitan Ministries set up for Saturday morning bright and early with my teammates Jacob Rios and Isaiah Osby. Other than that, I plan on resting up to put it on Berkeley Prep next week!
On a very personal note, please remember why we wear Pink in October...I wear pink to honor my grandmother and aunt, who are breast cancer survivors. I also wear pink to honor my great aunts and great grandmother who were warriors, but are now angels. Support breast cancer research so that our sisters, mothers, aunts, grandmothers, and other loved ones may have a fighting chance!
Be blessed and Go Crusaders!
Think Pink but bleed Green!
