PLAYERS TO WATCH:
THE OUTLOOK While some want to say this game between the Fleming Island Eagles (7-0) and the Fletcher Senators (5-1) is for the district championship, both teams still have work to do.
But a win certainly puts one of them in the driver's seat - with their foot on the gas.
Fletcher has won three games a total of 12 points, including wins over Sandalwood (31-24), Raines (16-14), Atlantic Coast (20-17). In fact, four of the last five games for the Senators have come down to the last play (of sorts).
Fleming Island played its closet game since a season-opening overtime win over Clay last week, avenging last year's loss to Oakleaf, 24-7. The Golden Eagles have got the offense humming and there's no First Coast (the stumbling block for the Golden Eagles the last two years) to stop them.
Fletcher lost some key players to injury, but like any good team, the Senators simply plug in another one and move on. Defense will win this game.
