Heath Evans 7-on-7 standouts

Miramar knocked off Glades Central in the title game 20-19 to take home the title of the 5th annual Heath Evans 7-on-7 tournament on Saturday afternoon. Two Rivals.com top 100 prospects stood out over everyone else; here is a rundown of all the top performers.

Kelvin Benjamin - Glades Central - 2011 - wide receiver

For the second year in a row Benjamin was just dominate throughout the whole tournament. One handed catches became the norm for Benjamin. If anyone questioned his speed he answered those questions early and often just blowing by defensive backs on go routes.

Nick O'Leary - Dwyer - 2011 - tight end

O'Leary was every bit as dominate as Kelvin Benjamin was throughout the tournament. He is a physical old school player who catches everything thrown his way. He raised some eyebrows wearing an Alabama hat throughout the day.

Sean McVay - Miramar - 2011 - wide receiver

McVay was the go to guy for Miramar and caught the winning touchdown in the championship game. He caught everything thrown to him all day.

Jesse York - Boyd Anderson - 2011 -wide receiver

York showed great ball skills and an ability to go up and get the ball. His recruitment has started to pick up recently getting offers from FIU and West Virginia.

Phillip Ely - Tampa Plant - 2011 -quarterback

Ely was the best quarterback at this event. He can really spin it and showed very good accuracy throughout the day.

James Wilder - Tampa Plant - 2011 - linebacker

Wilder showed good coverage skills while playing linebacker. He O'Leary went at in their quarterfinal match up as he guarded O'Leary most of the game.

Cameron Posey - American Heritage Delray Beach - 2012 -wide receiver

The 6 foot 2, 175-pound Posey plays wide receiver and safety for AH. At wide receiver he runs good routes and has good hands.

Amos Leggett - Miami Booker T. Washington - 2012 - cornerback

Leggett is a big physical cornerback who just has a knack for coming up with interceptions. He will be one of the top cornerbacks in the nation next year.

Courtney Bynes - Boyd Anderson - 2011 - wide receiver

Bynes' quickness and speed was showcased in this event. He was a handful to handle on crossing routes.

Tracy Howard - Miramar - 2012 - cornerback

Howard is another outstanding cornerback in the class of 2012. Miramar played Glades Central in pool play and in the championship game. Howard drew the assignment of shadowing Kelvin Benjamin everywhere he went.

Neville Brown - Glades Central - 2011 - running back

The ultra quick Brown was great all day catching passes out of the backfield. His speed was too much for linebackers trying to cover him in space.
