Richmond to get First Look at Oklahoma
For most high school football players that end up among the Rivals.com rankings one of the biggest changes moving to college football is adjusting to the fact that great athletes now surround you and the burden isn't on anyone player to make plays. As such many players have to slow themselves down and simply try and handle their assignments rather than do too much.
In the case of Denton (Texas) Ryan linebacker Jordan Richmond it's not a trait he'll have to spend much time refining as the Raiders roster, particularly the defense, is chocked full of division one prospects. In the class of 2011 Ty Hook is headed to Louisiana Tech while the class of 2012 has no less than eight players listed on Rivals.com.
Included in that list are Richmond and fellow highly regarded prospects Mario Edwards and Alex De La Torre.
"It does make the game a lot easier playing with all of these great players. I know I can depend on everybody. I know they've got my back and they know I've got their back," Richmond said.
With such talent on Ryan's roster coaches have been flocking to the I-35 town and Richmond has certainly met many of them but admits one big visitor that showed up to the school on Thursday was an accidental miss on his part.
"I didn't even get to meet him. We have this thing, an advanced technology complex so I was gone and my coach texted me that Bob Stoops was at the school," he admitted. "I was pretty disappointed that I missed him."
