Franklin talks TCU junior day

When Marshall, TX standout, Aaron Franklin first planned his trip to Ft. Worth, TX to visit TCU, he had no idea what to expect. The Frogs rolled out the red carpet for Franklin and a handful of TCU's top targets on Saturday and it looks like they made quite an impression. PurpleMenace.Com caught up with Franklin to get his thoughts on the visit.

"It went really good" said Franklin. "I really liked it. I was really surprised by their facilities and how nice everything was."

The 6'1" 215 outside linebacker from East Texas has garnered a lot of early attention. With offers in hand from TCU, Texas A&M, Baylor, Stanford and SMU, it's clear that Franklin is demanding attention. With a visit to Ft. worth now in the books, Franklin went on to describe how his visit transpired.

"Well, there were only about 10-15 of us there so we had plenty of time to see what we needed to see" said Franklin. "Coach Tademy gave me a tour of everything and I really liked what I saw. the indoor facility was nice and I got to hang out in the players lounge too."

So what were some of the key points about the visit that stood out to the Marshall product?

"I guess it's just the fact that they have a really good football program but their academics are really strong too" he said. "They had the #1 defense in the nation last year and they finished #7 overall in the country. That's really impressive but I like it just as much that they graduate 86% of their football players, that's important to me."

With the Frogs making a strong impression of Franklin, was it enough to persuade the talented defender to make the call on his visit?

"TCU made a really good impression on me and I am definitely considering them" said Franklin. "I haven't decided on when I will make a decision but I'm not going to wait until signing day. I'll probably wait it out a little bit and try to make the best choice for me. I had a good time hanging out with the linebackers in the player's lounge. I got to talk to guys like Tank Carder and Daryl Washington, I mainly talked to Washington though, he was real cool."

With a solid visit now in the books, the Frogs know where they stand with Franklin. With five offers in the fold, it's just a matter of time before more offers start rolling in. Stay tuned to PurpleMenace.Com to get the latest on Franklin's recruitment and for all of your TCU recruiting needs.
