Franklin just days away between Red River Resolution
For the generally quiet Aaron Franklin of Marshall, Texas the recruiting process has been much the way he'd like it; staying in the shadows and letting others deal with all the fuss of major college recruiting. However, when your final choice has come down to the two combatants in perhaps college football's most anticipated game of 2009, that status can quickly change.
And change it has for the 6-foot-1, 206-pound outside linebacker.
In the past week Franklin has done nearly as many interviews as the two months prior and is handling such attention while still trying to come to his final decision between Oklahoma and Texas.
Franklin attended Oklahoma's spring game and made another trip in late June with his mother and grandmothers, until last weekend he had not made the same trip to Austin after taking part in the Longhorns' summer camp.
While his family didn't make the trip with him Franklin says the trip to Austin was a positive one and something that let him have a better opinion of everything surrounding the Texas program.
"It went well, I basically just got a full campus tour and had a chance to see all of the academics," Franklin said. "It was my first chance to look at most of that stuff, but it was pretty much what I expected."
