Rating the 2013 Quarterbacks

SOCIAL: Follow on Twitter | Friend on Facebook

As we begin the evaluation process of the class of 2013, we take a look at the quarterbacks and how they stack up. Some would say this is an 'off' year for the signal-caller position. Most athletes in Florida play quarterback and we feel there's no shortage of talent at that position. Here's a look at the top five quarterbacks for the class of 2013.

Top 2013 quarterbacks

Cord Sandberg
Dual-Threat Quarterback
6-foot-3 |205 | Manatee(Bradenton)
Buzz: Sandberg enters his third year as a starter for the Hurricanes, having guided them to an impressive 40-0 win over First Coast (Jacksonville) in the 2012 Class 7A state title game. He has the poise to not crack under pressure and a quick release. His running skills are by far his biggest asset.
Schools in the mix: Auburn, Vandy, West Virginia, Clemson, Alabama ( 19 total).
Parker Boehme
Dual-Threat Quarterback
6-foot-2 |215 | Sandalwood( Jacksonville)
Buzz: Boehme stands out physically with a thick upper-body and strong base at 215 pounds on his 6-foot-2 frame. He isn't an athlete playing quarterback, but instead a quarterback who is an athlete. He can do damage with both his arms and his legs.
Schools in the mix: Georgia Tech, Southern Miss, Miami, North Carolina, Tennessee (11 total).
Tyler Cogswell
Pro-style Quarterback
6-foot-5| 220 | American Heritage (Plantation)
Buzz: A tall quarterback that drew notice at the US Army All-American junior combine. Cogswell has prototypical size at 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds. He does a good job of getting zip on the ball and showing adequate arm strength to attack down the field. He throws well using his entire body to get velocity into the throw.
Schools in the mix: Tennessee, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, Penn State, Central Michigan (11 total)
Pete Dinovo
Dual-Threat Quarterback
6-foot-2 | 190 | East Lake (Tarpon Springs)
Buzz: Dinovo led the Eagles to within 45 seconds of knocking off 8A champion Plant. In the recent Ignite BCP combine in Tampa, Divono showed great touch, velocity, footwork in the pocket and made quick, accurate decisions. Anyone who has watched him wasn't surprised at this performance
Schools in the mix: Western Kentucky, Clemson, Central Florida, South Florida, Iowa State (9 total)
Asiantii Woulard
Dual Threat Quarterback
6-foot-4 | 205 | Winter Park
Buzz: Woulard has prototypical size at 6-foot-4 and more than 200 pounds and has a live arm that allows him to make a variety of throws. Look for more improvement with this being his second full season as signal-caller
Schools in the mix: FAMU, Pitt, Florida State, Temple, Washington State (ten total)
Others in the mix:

Kurt Benkert, Cape Coral Island Coast
Troy Cook, Miami Palmetto
John O'Korn, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas
Juwan Brown, Largo
Alton Meeks, Orlando Boone
Darryl Richardson, Seffner Armwood
Corey Todd, Naples First Baptist Academy
Tracy Johnson, St. Petersburg Lakewood
Jaranta Lewis, Weston Cypress Bay
Akeem Jones, Miami Carol City
Austin Chipoletti, Jacksonville Mandarin
Benton Voke, Pembroke Pines Charter
