GAME 1 - TALLAHASSEE PRIDE

The Skinny: Lincoln is 8-0 and a district champ while Godby is 8-1 coming off a tough loss to Wakulla last week. Both teams are playing for pride, but both are heading to the post-season and need to stay healthy. It's the city championship in the Big Bend

vs
GODBY
LINCOLN
Prediction: LINCOLN
PLAYERS TO WATCH:

GODBY: ATH Khalid Thomas, WR Earl Calloway, DB Lester Thomas, DB Kenny McIrvin, RB Tim Longmire, WR Jamaul Vickers.

LINCOLN: LB James Hearns, WR Reggie Davis, WR Taj Williams, WR Jamerson Blount, OL Dakota Dent, WR Myles Gaines.

THE OUTLOOK: With both teams relatively healthy and both teams heading to the post-season, one might think Lincoln and Godby would 'take it easy' this week.

And you'd be wrong.

This is a statement game for both Lincoln, which slipped two spots in the latest FlaVarsity Top 25 to No. 4 and for Godby - which fell from the same rankings after a 23-12 loss to Wakulla.

There's tremendous talent on both sidelines. James Hearns (Florida) and Reggie Davis(Georgia) are the two leaders for Lincoln - while Godby has Khalid Thomas (Kentucky), and Lester Thomas (Florida Atlantic) lead the way for the Cougars.

Special teams will come into play - and Godby struggled last week with this area. Lincoln won last week's game 35-28, but led 28-7 before putting in the second-string. The Trojans have only been tested by St. Pauls (La.) this year, but look for this game to be a measuring stick for the post-season.

If you're going to the game, get to the Fairgrounds early - as the kickoff has been backed up to 6 PM at Gene Cox Stadium.

PREDICTIONLincoln 28, Godby 21
