Tallahassee Lincoln running back Ben Robinson may be considered small at 5-foot-8, but his football IQ and aggressiveness are big reasons why he will play at the next level according to head coach Yusef Shakir.

Robinson, who is currently dual enrolled in Tallahassee, helped lead the Trojans (12-2) to the Class 7A state title game against Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.

He paved the way with 1,420 yards rushing and 20 TD's this year, while recording two interceptions on defense in a limited role. He added three solo tackles in the championship game against the Raiders, while also playing on offense.

"I think he can play both," said Shakir, who noted that Robinson was a three-year starter at defensive back before moving to tailback. "He does a great job of high pointing the ball versus tall receivers."

The senior had some of his best games this year while on the biggest stage.

During a three-game stretch in the postseason, Robinson had 456 yards rushing and seven touchdowns against Gainesville Buchholz, Oviedo and Kissimmee Osceola, including a season-high 175 yards against Buchholz.

"I think he's been under the radar because of his height," added Shakir, "But he's a very physical and smart player."

Although he was kept out of the end zone in the title game, Robinson had at least one touchdown in every game this season.

He currently holds an offer from Coastal Carolina, where he is making an official visit today.
