We continue our 'tour of Florida' - 30 stops in 30 days - with the East Lake Eagles..

Tarpon Springs (Fla.) -- The East Lake Eagles have loads of returning talent to the 2013 roster. After a deep playoff run last year, the Eagles will look to get back in the state playoffs even without UCF signee Pete DiNovo.

The biggest (literally) point of the East Lake squad is standout offensive tackle Mason Cole. The Michigan verbal commit will protect the blindside of his quarterback - who at this point is up in the air.

Jake Hudson - who is head coach Bob Hudson's son - is a transfer from Clearwater High School. He and Jordan Leston are in a quarterback duel to get the privilege to throw the ball to the talented East Lake wideouts.

Artavis Scott and George Campbell are extremely hot names across the country.

Campbell, a 2015 prospect, is out for the spring for an injury that occurred last year during the playoffs - but expects to return sometime during July.

Scott went hard in practice - either because there was coaches from USF, Florida State and Ole Miss at his practice or because he takes practice very seriously - most likely both.

Scott lined up in the slot and outside playing receiver - he is a very talented route runner, shows off smooth hands, and gets up the field with a plethora of jukes and cuts.

Scott also plays multiple positions on the defensive side of the ball. He said he plays DE,LB,SS, and CB. He mostly played strong safety and covered the hook curl-to-flat zone well in cover 3 sets - coming downhill hard and making tackles during practice.

Alongside Scott is rising junior John Brunner. With the injury to Campbell, Brunner is stepping up in his place and looks to get solid playing time in the fall.

Brunner stands at 6-foot-3, 170-pounds. He uses his long lanky frame well in his route running. With Campbell and Brunner playing outside and Scott in the slot - the Eagles have arguably the best wide receiving core in the county.

Defensive leader and USF target Devin Abraham mans a solid East Lake defense. Colleges are looking at Abraham to play cornerback - but he plays safety for the Eagles.

He is the unquestioned leader of the defense. Abraham was impressive during the 7on7 period - jumping a curl route that the quarterback threw late - taking it to the house for a touchdown. Abraham is also used in the punt and kick return game with Artavis Scott.

Whoever the quarterback ends up being will have a fun time with the D1 talent surrounding him. Artavis Scott checked in at no.81 and Cole is no.118 in the Rivals250.
