The Skinny: Trenton returns to the state title game and faces off with top-ranked (and unbeaten) Blountstown. The Tigers (both teams are named 'Tigers') will win, but it depends on which team stops the other's offensive threat. Both Trenton and Blountstown have solid QB play and that should be the difference maker.

BLOUNSTOWN: OL Jay Williams, RB Alex Mayorga, QB/TE Hunter Jordan TRENTON: RB/WR/DB Hamp Cheevers, QB/DB Stephen Smith, ILB Jacquez Powell THE OUTLOOK -- Strong lines on both sides of the ball-and the field-make for a hard-nosed football game. Every offensive and defensive playmaker has the opportunity to make their mark on this game.

Both coaches cited the other's size up front, and the ability of the other's offensive line.

"We pretty much controlled the line of scrimmage," said Trenton Head Coach Andrew Thomas in reference to his team's 17-14 win over Dixie County.

Thomas and Blounstown coach Greg Jordan also cited Trenton's defense.

"They put pressure on you on the edges with the pass rush," Jordan said. "When they read run, they're all flying downhill

Coach Jordan started looking at film on Saturday, and-since then-has prepared his defense for the veer offense-as used by teams like the University of Houston, West Virginia and Marshall in the 1960s and '70s, and Trenton High School.

"We just have to recognize what they're doing up front and recognize the blocks," Jordan said.

His defense's task: stop Hamp Cheevers.

The Sophomore Athlete was almost a non-factor in the win over Dixie County in which Trenton had its lowest point output since October 11.

If there were ever a winning formula when facing Trenton, that would be it.

Regardless of who wins this game, when the clock hits 0:00 on Friday night, one thing is certain: the Tigers will hoist the championship trophy.
