Florida State picked up its second receiver commitment on Tuesday. Four-star Auden Tate of Tampa Wharton is the latest prospect to join the Seminole family. He becomes commitment No. 18 for FSU's 2015 recruiting class.

"I have committed to the university of Florida State," he said in a ceremony at his school.

The Rivals250 member had been waiting for an FSU offer throughout the spring. Last month, Tate got the good news when receivers coach Lawrence Dawsey extended a scholarship offer. From that point, the 'Noles turned up the heat. Tate originally planned to release his top five in June, but he couldn't wait any longer and told Jimbo Fisher he was ready to jump on board.

"I love how they spread the ball around," he said. "I can't wait to get there."

The Seminoles have plenty of speed in their lineup, but Tate (6-4, 199 pounds) brings a physical presence that should complement the other receivers. He is also one of the most athletic receivers in the state of Florida for the class of 2015.

Tate joins Nyqwan Murray from Orlando (Oak Ridge) as the other receiver commitment. FSU is far from done at receiver and is still actively recruiting several prospects, including Da'Vante Phillips, Calvin Ridley and George Campbell.

Tate picked Florida State over Florida, Clemson, Michigan and Central Florida. He said Maryland finished second to the Seminoles, and Michigan was third.

He is ranked No. 22 at his position, No. 196 in the country and No. 32 overall in Florida. Last season at Wharton, Tate had 49 catches for 815 yards and five touchdowns.

Tate said FSU strength and conditioning coach Vic Viloria was a major factor in his decision. He had been leaning toward the Seminoles for months.

"I had an idea I was going to FSU in March," he said.
