St. Petersburg, Fla. -- Deandre Fitz-Henley had a big weekend as he added two Pac-12 offers, which gave him his first Power Five conference offers.

The class of 2018 outside linebacker from Clearwater Central Catholic added offers from California and Washington.

"From Cal, I talked to coach (Sonny) Dykes, and he liked my film," Fitz-Henley said. "He was telling me that I was great athlete, and he liked the way I move. He was letting me know that he'd like for me to play at the University of California. Anyone would like to live in the state of California.

"Washington's head coach also contacted me - coach Petersen. He was basically telling me the same thing."

Fitz-Henley is open to heading out west to play his college ball but admits he'd like to stay in the southeast.

"I don't mind it," he said. "I'd rather play closer to home, but whatever it takes to succeed, I'm okay with it."

Miami and Duke have been expressing interest, and Fitz-Henley especially hopes that he lands the offer from the Hurricanes.

As a sophmore at CCC, Fitz-Henley lead the Marauders with 68 solo tackles and recorded eight tackles for loss. CCC made it to the 3A state semifinals last season but lost to American Heritage 31-24.

Fitz-Henley is confident that his squad will make another long run in the playoffs.

"We're going to win the state championship," he said. "I know that."

This offseason, Fitz-Henley is playing for Team Florida, a 7v7 program in Pinellas County.
