6-foot-5 combo guard Ty Majlik flying under the radar

Largo (Fla.) Indian Rocks Christian combo guard Ty Majlik has flown under the radar during his recruiting process.

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound class of 2016 basketball recruit is receiving interest from Santa Fe, St. Petersburg College, and Palm Beach Atlantic.

"They have told me to come to tryouts, which is just more motivation to become the best," Majlik said.

Majlik had a solid senior season as he averaged 17.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. His season high point total came against Clearwater Central Catholic as he dropped 49 points.

Indian Rocks Christian finished 6-18 on the year. Even with Majlik showing out individually, he wasn't thrilled about the season because of his team's record.

"My individual performance didn't matter if we weren't winning games, but I feel if I keep working, I can be one of the best players to come out of this area," he said.

Majlik played a high majority of his minutes at point guard but has the size and skill to play shooting guard as well.

"I'm a great shooter and being 6-foot-5 helps with defenders not being able to contest my shot," explained Majlik. "I feel like I could bring championships to whatever college wants to take a shot on me, because I feel like I still have a lot more improving to do. I'm a good listener, and I want to get better as a player."
