ORLANDO - The storm warning of the purple variety has fizzled thus far in the first half at the 6A Finals at the Citrus Bowl. Miami Central defeated Gainesville 34-14 thoroughly dominating the 'Canes on the field and the stat sheet.
Florida Statecommit Joseph Yearby has played bumper cars with Gainesville defenders en route to an 125-2 TD performance on 23 carries for the Rockets while Raphael Webb has been the lone bright spot for GHS with 155 yards on 19 carries and two touchdown.
It was a rough 48 minutes for Gainesville's Marquis Robins-Cato. The Sr. has completed just three passes, and threw INT deep in 'Canes territory.
The Rockets outgained the 'Canes 397-255 in total yards, winning the time of possession battle by a 2:1 margin. Central's Keith Reed finsiehd 6 of 10 for 113 yards, connecting on 2 passes to Roderick Carter for 62 yards, while Clemson commit Dalvin Cook had2 receptions for 47 yards.
Ahmad Thomas(Oklahoma and Keith Kelsey Jr (committed to Floridalead Central and Gainesville respectively with 13 and 14 tackles each. Alex Gonzalez had 3.5 sacks for the 'Canes.
