Davis is looking to be the next big corner in Florida

Ryan Hill, Demarcus Van Dyke, Patrick Peterson, Dre Kirkpatrick and Lamarcus Joyner. What do they have in common? They were the top cornerbacks in the state of Florida for the past few years and 2012 Godby high school, junior cornerback T.J. Davis, wants to be a part of that list.
"I want to be looked at as the best. I work hard and want to achieve great things. I want to be recognized as the best in the state at corner. I need to improve on all parts of my game because you can always get better, but I think I have great hips and really can locate the ball well. I love being physical at the line of scrimmage and making receivers work to earn every yard. I actually model my game after Dre Kirkpatrick of Alabama and Patrick Peterson of LSU. Love the way those guys play."

The 6-foot-1, 173 lb cornerback doesn't claim any leaders for his recruitment, but he knows what he looks for in a school and like most, he wants a great environment.
"The environment is a big plus for me. I want to go somewhere with friendly people, nice weather and just positive surroundings. I also want to go to a place with a good history and tradition. The coaching staff and player bond is big as well. I want to see the interaction between the staff and players and see how everyone gets along. Also, the school I choose has to have a little swag about them. I want them to be feared by other teams."
Over the last few months, Davis was able to visit some schools for their Junior Days and was able to get a better look at the campus outside of a game day. He offered his thoughts on his visits to Auburn, South Florida, Miami and Florida State.
Auburn
"I visited Auburn for their Junior Day and it was excellent. It was around the time they were winning the National Championship, so that made it fun. The fans are crazy and were definitely showing the team a lot of love."
South Florida
"It wasn't very long because they had a celebration for the team, but it was nice. The campus was nice and the staff was very friendly."
Miami
"There is so much tradition at Miami, so I was really looking forward to this trip. They have always been a top program for years. Coach Golden called me over that day and actually offered me on the spot. That was pretty cool of him."
Florida State
"The FSU trip was great. I know everything about the Seminoles. That is the hometown team. It was a very good visit and Coach Stoops, my main recruiter, is really cool coach."
Davis holds 24 offers from division 1 football programs and the offers have continued to roll in as of late.
"LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Nebraska and Florida have all offered me lately. Alabama, LSU and Auburn have really shown a lot of love over the last two months or so. They seem very interested. I am really looking forward to visiting LSU and also Ohio State. They have great programs and always get players to the league."
Davis also runs the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles for the Godby high school track team and scored a 17 on the ACT, while maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
