Continuing our countdown of the top 50 players in the state of Florida for the class of 2014, here's Number 40.
Jacksonville Ribault dual-threat QB D.J. Gillins has a new school, a new coach and a new outlook.
Gillins enrolled at Ribault, on Jacksonville's northwest side of town, after three years at private school Eagle's View Academy.
At Eagle's View, Gillins starred for the Warriors before a season-ending injury cut short his 2012 campaign. Now back and 100 percent 'healthy', Gillins has grasped the spread offense employed by the Trojans and looks to have a stellar senior season.
The competition on Ribault's schedule will test Gillins quickly - with five playoff opponents - including a season-opener with First Coast.
The 6-foot-3, 185 pound Rivals four-star is the ninth-rated dual-threat quarterback in the country, and is committed to Wisconsin.
