Kain Daub transferred to Sandalwood from Nease last year and made an almost immediate impact.
A Rivals four-star, Daub has speed, size and agility to play aggressively on the run. At Inside linebacker, the Saints are utilizing his physical strength to shed blocks and plug holes.
He has struggled at times on one-on-one coverage in his junior year, but has improved tremendously this spring and summer - and will continue to improve at Florida State.
"He showed his speed to run with tight ends on seam routes," said Rivals analyst Kynon Codrington of Daub's performance at the Rivals100 Five-star challenge. "He stayed within an arm's length of speedy receivers and played the position well."
Daub is teamed up with fellow FlaVarsity100 member Blake McClain on defense for the Saints.
