Fleming Island (Fla.) High School Quarterback Michael Scarnecchia has not been offered yet, but that does not seem to be the case for much longer.
The 6-foot-3 186-pound QB has a 4.3 GPA which has attracted schools along with his stellar play.
Scarnecchia has been hearing from Iowa, Vanderbilt, Michigan, USF, Yale, Harvard, and Georgia recently. Iowa, Vanderbilt, and Georgia have been showing Scarnecchia the most interest.
Coach Nick Sheridan has been the USF coach most in contact with him.
"I've been talking to him over phone calls," Scarnecchia said. "We've been talking almost every week."
Scarnecchia liked what he saw at USF's spring game as he had high praises.
"I think they made a positive turn with the new coaching staff," Scarnecchia said. "They're bringing a lot of new pep into their offense. I have seen a lot of explosive plays as well as sound fundament playing and they're definitely going to turn the program around."
Although Scarnecchia is not sure where he will be camping just yet, but said USF is definitely an option. The pro-style 2014 QB has been hearing from a few big programs - look for his recruitment to heat up.
Scarnecchia recently participated in both the Elite 11 quarterback competition, and the Orlando stop of the Rivals Camp Series - Presented by UnderArmour.
Scarnecchia finished last season completing 101 of 156 passes for 1,553 yards with 18 touchdowns and three interceptions. He led his team to an impressive 7-3 record, including wins over Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles (4A runner-up).
