McDermott impressed us at the UnderArmour All America Practice sessions. He consistently stayed with his man and gets his arms below pad level and lifts up his opponent. His footwork improved through the week and a year at Miami will make even more of a difference. His family is strong offensive linemen - with two brothers who played or play the position well. His frame is well-built and likely a year in a college weight training and nutrition program and he'll gain some muscle mass. He played tackle, but we think he'll move to guard in college.
