FlaVarsity analysts have reviewed the players, the film and the accolades and compiled our own Post-season countdown of the top 50 players in the state of Florida for the class of 2014.
Our list may vary a bit from the Rivals list - and we can appreciate that - even though we're all on the same team. Our analysts have NFL and Major College experience and see things a little differently from time to time.
Sharpe is a behemoth of a man, standing 6-8 and plays every bit of that. He's a good tackle that can play either side of the line. His footwork is solid - as he slides into his block and keeps his knees and shoulders parallel. He does not get overextended and punches with veracity.
At the Army All-America Bowl, Sharpe worked very well against some of the better defensive linemen. He's physical and athletic. He has a tremendous upside and working at Florida, he'll only get better.
We rate him below Montel McBride only based on the competition that McBride faced vs. the competition that Sharpe faced. We felt McBride had a stronger resume.
