FlaVarsity analysts have reviewed the players, the film and the accolades and compiled our own Post-season countdown of the top 50 players in the state of Florida for the class of 2014.
We've hit the Top 5. Here are the best of the best - the Rivals 5-stars.
Since the eighth grade (2009) we have known of Sony Michel. He played four years at American Heritage (one year he sat out due to an injury) and has been dominant for four years.
With legitimate 4.5 speed, Michel makes people miss in the open field and outruns defenders who appear to have the angle. But he doesn't' avoid collisions and is a powerful north-south runner. He will hit you up the middle for five yards, or hit the seam and take it to the house. At the beginning of the season, Michel was the top-rated player in Florida - and the only five-star. He lived up to the billing.
About the only thing missing from Michel's trophy case was a state title and that happened this season. Now it's off to Georgia.
