NAVARRE -- What goes around comes around.
After the Navarre Raiders were able to jump out to a 21-0 lead over Lake City Columbia and pull off the major upset, fortune was not on the side of the Raiders Friday night.
Gainesville jumped out to a 28-0 lead at halftime, all scores capitalizing on Navarre's mistakes.
Gainesville was able to strip the ball from Navarre Running Back Jay Warren to get the ball on their own 20.,
The Purple Hurricanes would put together a solid drive capped off by a 14 yard TD run by Tony James.
Just a few plays later, a bad snap recovered by Gaineville's Alex Gonzales in the end zone would put the Purple Hurricanes on the board again - up 14-0.
The next Raider mistake was an interception, where once again Gainesville would capitalize on a Raphael Webb 2 yard run , and then follow up with a 4 yard TD Run.
Navarre would show life in the second half with Warren who would score three touchdown runs (9, 40, 37).
However Gainesville would answer with scores of their own, one a TD Pass from Marquis Robins-Cato to Florida commit ATH Chris Thompson from 14 yards out.
Cato would throw three more touchdown passes, all to Case Harrison (27,19,9) to blow the game open.
Gainesville would not let the pedal off until late in the game.
The Purple Hurricanes face Miami Central - a 48-33 winner over unbeaten Naples - Saturday for the Class 6A Title at the Citrus Bowl.
