Hurricane Irma Forced Visit Cancellations But Some Still Happening


Universities throughout Florida have cancelled classes and or closed campuses through Monday, at the earliest, causing at least three official visits to be postponed/rescheduled for later dates. Five-star point guard Devon Dotson and four-star small forward Khavon Moore were both scheduled to visit Florida this weekend but the two will now have to reschedule their trips to Gainesville.

Keldon Johnson, a five-star wing at Oak Hill Academy, originally planned to visit Florida State this weekend but soon after completing his visit to Texas last weekend it was announced that he will trip to N.C. State this weekend and come to Tallahassee next weekend.

Ohio State is set to host three players ranked in the Top 100 of the Rivals150, among them is Oldsmar Christian guard Elijah Weaver. The No. 35 ranked prospect in the 2018 class, Weaver is down to Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and USC. He visited USC last weekend and next weekend he'll make the two hour drive to Gainesville.

Speaking of USC, Michael Devoe will make the six hour flight from Orlando to Los Angeles for his second official visit. Devoe was in Atlanta last month to visit Georgia Tech. Following his trip to USC, the Montverde Academy guard still has visits to Wake Forest, Ohio State and Florida on his itinerary.

St. Petersburgh High School point guard Serrel Smith is racking up the frequent flyer miles. The three-star prospect has already visited Wichita State and Dayton, this weekend he heads to Oxford, Mississippi for an official visit to Ole Miss.

OTHER IMPORTANT VISITS:

Southwest Florida Christian Academy shooting guard Caleb Catto heads to Furman this weekend. He also has visits scheduled with Florida Gulf Coast on September 21 and at William and Mary September 30.

The Master's Academy point guard Jose Placer will head north to Baltimore for a visit at UMBC.
