Such is the case with Ponte Vedra (Fla.) Nease LB Kain Daub.
Daub went to the recently completed VTO-Rivals100 Combine/Challenge and performed well enough to get several of the experts to raise some eyebrows.
"It was a good experience," Daub said. "I really enjoyed getting out there and seeing the best competition from around the state."
Daub - who is home-schooled - took in the Florida State spring game.
"That was pretty good," Daub said. "I got to look at the facilities and talked to a lot of the coaches there. They told me pretty much what I needed to work on."
Daub has several schools interested in his services, including Florida, Florida State and Miami.
Daub is sitting out spring drills due to a slight groin pull.
"I'm working on my rehab and hoping to get out there for the summer workouts," Daub said.
