The Florida Atlantic Owls picked up their biggest commit of the 2014 class in landing Godby linebacker Kris Harris. The three-star prospect chose FAU over USF, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Iowa State, and others.
"It's been a long, challenging process, but a blessing," Harris said. "It really came down to me staying close to home and staying in a nice, clean area in Boca Raton. It's just somewhere where family can be close, because family is important to me."
"There's a burden that's been lifted off my shoulders. I just feel so relieved to know that I can some place my second home. I'm just grateful that I can get this thing rolling for my future."
Harris has been in contact with Coach Meadows from FAU, but two of his former Godby teammates currently play at FSU, and that had a big impact on him choosing the Owls.
"Why not go somewhere where my brothers would be? We all share the same traits - good character. I just felt like that would be a great place for me also."
Harris had plenty of suitors that wanted his talents, but Harris wanted to stay close to home. It came down to the Bulls and the Owls. Harris will officially visit FAU on January 17th.
