Miami Booker T. Washington ATH Krondis Larry has committed to Samford.
"The team I chose will give me the best opportunity for me to play college football," said Larry. "They are up and coming and have very strong academics and that's important to me."
Larry, a 5-foot-6, 160 pound RB for the defending 4A champion Tornados, said the early commitment will allow him to focus on the goals of the team and his own.
"This will help me focus a lot. I know I have a great future with a great program. It allows me to focus on the goals of our team for my senior year. We want to go back-to-back," Larry said. "I took the best opportunity for me. Travis Trickett has been talking to me. He said he was going to 'recruit the mess out of me' and he did. He kept in touch with me and I appreciate that."
"Plus, Samford wants me to play running back, which is where I want to play," said Larry.
Larry has played in two straight state championship games with the Tornados.
He had been talking to Boston College, Appalachian State, Hawaii and Western Michigan.
"I plan on getting up there next week to see the campus," Larry said. "I'm happy to be a Bulldog".
