MILTON -- It was billed as the area's two most explosive offenses were taking the field Friday night at Milton High School between Navarre and Milton.
What ended up being the difference was Navarre's suffocating defense and impressive special teams play to defeat the Panthers 20-12.
Milton would strike first with a three yard TD run by Andre Flakes, but Navarre would block the extra point to make it a 6-0 game.
Navarre would answer with a Johnny Robinson-Pettus pass to Christian Gill for a touchdown. Navarre would get the PAT to make it 7-6.
Milton would answer again with an 8 play drive for 76 yards to score another touchdown. This time it was a four yard Roy Wise run to make it 12-7. Milton would miss the PAT and that would be the score to go into the half.
The second half it was all Navarre as the Raider would get a TD Pass from Andrew Rievesto Clemson-bound Jordan Leggett on an 11 yard pass, and then call his own number for a touchdown run to make it a 20-12 win for the Raiders.
Navarre's defense recorded five sacks, forced three turnovers, and also blocked a punt in the win. The Raiders will now host Lake City Columbia in the Region 1 6A Championship next Friday.
Northview downs Freeport
In the Region 1 1A Championship, Northview would edge out a tenacious Freeport squad winning 34-28 in overtime with a LaMikal Kyles 10 yard touchdown run.
Freeport jumped out to an early 14-0 lead over the Chiefs, and forced an uncharacteristic five turnovers on Northview.

Crusaders fall in OT
Pensacola Catholic once again gave Madison County another tough challenge and another overtime thriller.
The Cowboys would find a way to win in overtime 17-14 to stay alive.
Keon Bruton would put Madison on the board first with a 50 yard touchdown run, but Pensacola Catholic would answer back with a Simon Smiley 10 yard touchdown run. Madison would take a 14-7 lead into the half with a D.J. McKnight four yard touchdown run.
In the second half the Crusaders would tie it up with another touchdown run from Smiley.
Madison missed a game winning field goal in regulation to send the game in overtime, where the Cowboys would make a field goal in overtime to take a 17-14 lead.
Catholic would attempt a field goal of their own, but it would be blocked to secure the Madison County victory.
Madison will face First Academy in the 3A State Semifinals.
