North Florida Chrtisian's Jonathan Vickers won the North MVP in the 59th Annual Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star game held in Sebring.
Vickers, a Rivals three-star RB from Tallahassee, won't have to travel far for his college. The 6-foot, 205 pound Vickers chose Florida State in July.
"I've always been ready to go to Florida State," Vickers said. "This was a great experience, to play against some guys that I'll see down the road."
Matching up with Georgia-bound Keyon Brown on blocking schemes helps Vickers get ready for the next level.
"It was great to match up with him," Vickers said. "Sometimes he had to get me and sometimes I had to get him. He's a baller."
Vickers was the main offensive weapon for the North, which struggled against the South's press-coverage and pressure from the down linemen.
Vickers will not enroll early, as he's also a baseball player for the Eagles.
"I'm going to finish out my high school career, play baseball and finish up in May," Vickers said.
Vickers is the 57th ranked player in the FlaVarsity150. He led North Florida Christian to the state semi-finals before falling to Lakeland Victory Christian in the 2A playoffs.
