OConnor will wait to see what Penn State does

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla - With Penn State head coach Bill O'Brien headed to the NFL, it leaves quarterback commit Michael O'Connor in a tough position. He was set to enroll early, but that will change if things don't change quickly.
"I won't be able to enroll if they don't get a new head coach," O'Connor said. "I couldn't walk into the school not knowing the head coach, offensive coordinator, or quarterbacks coach. I can't go in blindly like that so I wouldn't be able to enroll early if everything doesn't get cleared up by the 13th. We'll see where that goes."
If things don't clear up by the 13th and O'Connor doesn't feel the green light to sign at Penn State, he'll be forced to wait till summer to enroll to his school of choice.
"I'll have to wait till signing day. I won't be able to enroll early. It's kind of sad but I don't want to rush a decision in the next ten days for something that will affect me for the next four or five years. I just have to do what's best for me - they could bring in someone who runs a triple option for all I know. I just have to make sure I'm in the right situation before I sign anything."
If it's not Penn State for the talented four-star quarterback, where else could he look?
"Michigan State is the only one right now," he said is the only school he's heard from recently. "I heard from them when they lost their (QB) commit a few weeks ago. So that's definitely the option right now, but we'll see. After the dead periods over we'll see what happens. I definitely have to go out there and see what's out there for myself."
Despite all of the reports about Bill O'Brien, O'Connor still had a game to play, and he did pretty well in the Under Armour All America game. He finished 3-6 passing with 45 yards and a passing touchdown to Travis Rudolph.
"It was awesome. Coming from Canada and growing up there, I never would have thought in my wildest dreams I would be out here on this field right now. It was a lot of fun - it's an honor to be on the same field as these players. To be able to throw a deep ball to my high school teammate Bo (Scarborough) - that was awesome too. It was a great experience and something I'll cherish for the rest of my life. I look forward to using this as a stepping stone for college."
"I started slow. My first two drives were three and outs so I was disappointed, but I think coming back in the start of the 3rd quarter I thought I put together a very nice drive and got our team in the end zone. I think I stand up with the rest of the (quarterbacks). I can throw the ball and I can make plays. It was great competing with them."
O'Connor got to know some of the other signal callers, and also bonded with some of the other Penn State commits.
"Sean White and Brandon Harris the other two quarterbacks on team Highlight. They're great guys, they're funny, they're cool to be around, and we had a great time."
