For many players in the Rivals Camp Series - Presented by UnderArmour - it's a chance. A chance to make a lasting first impression - in person - before the Rivals analysts.
For Lakeland Christian QB Christian Alexander - that chance comes Saturday in Orlando.
"I need to make good throws on the run," Alexander said. "I need to show that I can drop back deep too. We will have a lot of talent out there, a lot of speed to throw to, so it's time for me to show everyone what I have."
"I am just hoping that by going to this and the spring will be more exposure," said Alexander. "Right now I have two offers - Miami and Colgate. I'm hoping to get more looks and expand my offers."
Alexander is listed as the 17th best dual-threat quarterback in the country. The Rivals three-star has visited both USF and UCF recently.
At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Alexander has played quarterback since the eighth grade - and has focused on quarterback for the Vikings.
His dream offer is Ohio State. "I like coach (Urban) Meyer and what he does up there," Alexander said. "I'd probably like to get one from Florida too - if we're talking in-state."
Alexander will compete Saturday at Oviedo High School as the third annual Rivals Camp Series - Presented by UnderArmour makes the first of two stops in Florida.
