Showdown in the Everglades - Dunbar-Immokalee

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

DUNBAR: QB Daniel Cobb, RB Marquise Bryant, WR Johnell Barnes, WR Joe Williams, OLB Keith Scott, OLB Anthony Gordon

IMMOKALEE: QB Tshumbi Johnson, RB D'ernest Johnson, CB/DB Mackensie Alexander, RB Jacky Marcellus, WR J.C. Jackson, DT Deadrin Senat

THE OUTLOOK: Immokalee began the season with a buzz surrounding them generating enough noise to make a swarm of cicadas proud after their absolute domination over 8A Seminole (49-19) in Sanford. They went through some rough patches immediately following the Naples game on and off the field to say the least, and minus a slight hiccup against Barron Collier two weeks ago the ship has been righted for the most part it seems for Coach Ackley and his staff. The Indians haven't been ripping up the offensive numbers that you'd think they would with D-1 talent at virtually every position, but they have been able to win the games they need to, when they need to and that's all that matters at this point in the season.

Dunbar is boat racing teams putting up almost 400 yards of offense with a Sophomore QB (Cobb) and RB (Bryant). Their defense has given up 10 points or less in six of nine games, pitching four shutouts in the process. Don't get too caught up though, this is the most talented offense they've faced all year.

Cobb's stats are gaudy; even more so given that he's only a Class of 2015 member. The 5-10, 188lb signal-caller needs only 32 all-purpose yards to go over 2,000 for the regular season to go along with his 23 touchdowns. His favorite targets are Sr. Johnell Barnes (5-11, 155) and Jr. Joe Wallace (6-2, 174).

If the Indians front-seven can create issues for Cobb, then the ball hawking Alexander Brothers in the Immokalee secondary will absolutely shine. Cobb has showed the ability to make accurate passes to the other teams as well (7 INT's on the season), so this game will most likely come down to who's got the bigger, meaner, stronger hogs up front. It will be the running game for Dunbar that will have to set the pass up, but there's these two guys named Deadrin Senat (who who've heard of) and Jean Borgela at OLB who is quietly putting together a phenomenal year at the position.

If Immokalee has learned their lesson not to take the "city-slicker" teams from Naples or Fort Myers, this could be the buzz regeneration needed to carry them into a very tough 5A south bracket. If Dunbar goes "greatest show on turf" mode, then Jones and Cocoa (1st Rd and potential 2nd Rd opponents) may have some issues on their hands. Look for the Indians to make precisely ONE more play on a turnover or special teams to pull this one out.
