"It felt like I was at home," JeanLouis said about his decision. "The Area was beautiful, the campus was nice, the coaching staff was great."

JeanLouis had recently narrowed his choices to South Alabama, Wofford and Alabama-Birmingham. He also held offers from Florida Gulf Coast, Murray State, North Florida and Stetson. JeanLouis' relationship with one of the South Alabama assistants was a factor in his decision.

"Darnell Archey was at every single game I played this summer, my good ones and bad," said JeanLouis of the Jaguars assistant. "He is honest and tells me what I need to work on and improve and he just kept working on building a stronger relationship with me."

A bouncy wing with good length, JeanLouis averaged 16.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.7 steals and one block per game for Canterbury during his junior season according to MaxPreps.com. He is the first member of the South Alabama 2018 recruiting class.
