DWYER: DE Malik Brown, DE Ted Taylor, DTMark Kelly, DB Shawn Boone, DB Jonathan Moxey, DB DeAndre Bozeman, WR Johnnie Dixon, WR Clint Stephens, WR Ezra Saffold, RB Alonso Smith, RB Cortney Lowry , QB Rob Nittolo
THE OUTLOOK: Both No. 3 American Heritage-Delray and No. 16 Dwyer have been considered as top-tier programs for much of this season.
The perception somewhat changed when Dwyer dropped its home game in Week 8 to eventual District 13-7A champion Atlantic-Delray.
Dwyer, which found itself in a must-win situation against Royal Palm Beach, eked out a 21-16 win in Week 10 to clinch the District 13-7A runner-up slot and a spot in the postseason for the 14th consecutive season.
Meanwhile, American Heritage-Delray has been in command of every regular season game at this juncture, as the Stallions have posted impressive wins over Atlantic-Delray (29-0 home victory in Week 1), Armwood (36-28 road triumph in Week 2), Glades Central (14-0 road win in Week 3) and West Monroe, La. (31-7 road win in Week 9).
American Heritage-Delray, the District 7-3A champion, hopes to extend its winning streak to 21 games in tonight's showdown with Dwyer. In order to do that and finish the regular season with a 10-0 record, the Stallions backfield of Bryant and Davis must find a way to penetrate through Dwyer's vaunted front seven from start to finish.
As for the Stallions defense, their front seven must apply consistent pressure on Nittolo and force him to make untimely and off-target throws to disrupt his rhythm and timing. The Stallions secondary must consistently jam Dwyer's speedy receivers off the line and get in position to make key defensive stops.
In the end, this game will come down to how American Heritage-Delray executes on both sides of the ball. If the Stallions play lights-out like they have been doing all season, then they'll likely be on its way to a win over Dwyer.
If not, then Dwyer may be in prime position for an upset victory tonight.
PREDICTION American Heritage-Delray 34, Dwyer 21
