Coach Troy Walters is Jones's main recruiter at UCF and coach Darrin Hinshaw is his point man at Kentucky. For Tennessee, he has a good relationship with coaches Larry Scott and Zach Azzanni.

When asked what made him commit to Tennessee, the 3-star gave the following response,

"The school tradition, I'm all about tradition. Also, it's not to0 cold or hot there and of course it's a good trademark for jobs after my football days over. I plan on majoring in business management with a minor in sports medicine."

While Jones has his mind on what school will provide him with the best educational foundation once his football days are over, he also gave FlaVaristy some insight into what the game means to him.

"Football means a hell of a lot to me. I play with a passion, if it wasn't for football I may be running about doing something dumb, football is a way to clear my mind for any problems I have and focus on the game. I've been playing football since 8th grade and it is a big part of my identity," said Jones. "One thing I would tell any underclassman about the recruiting process is also ways work hard, never lose focus, and maintain good grades. Also, don't worry about stars, just play football with a passion and respect every coach and player on and off the field because you never know who's watching."

Jacquez Jones speaks like a young man with a plan, the school that ultimately receives his signature will be getting a young man who demonstrates wisdom beyond his years off the field as well as a dynamic playmaker on it.
