Two of Tampas Finest Battle

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
PLANT: DB Paris Bostick, LB
Mitchell Wright, RB Wesley Bullock, WR Dereck Mann, LB Terrance Jenkins
ROBINSON: OL Conner Rafferty, DT Bruce Hector, QB Zain Gilmore, RB Martin Ruiz, WR Austin Eads, ATH Justin Madison
THE OUTLOOK: 1963 - the last time Robinson went undefeated, and also the last time Robinson defeated the Plant Panthers.
Undefeated through nine games, Robinson has seen its defense allow 10 points or fewer seven times this year. That includes four shutouts, three of which came consecutively.
In addition to a stout defense that has recorded 17 sacks, 14 interceptions and 14 fumble recoveries through nine games, Robinson also is putting up 42.1 points-a-game.
The only team to hold the Knights to fewer than 29 points in a game this season is Lakewood, which is 8-1 (the only loss being that 19-8 loss to Robinson two weeks ago).
The Panthers, meanwhile, are unbeaten against the state of Florida - a run which includes a 20-19 victory against powerful Armwood.
Like RHS, the Panthers put up more than 50 points on a Jefferson team that is a victory against Brandon (1-8) from finishing the year with a winning record.
Plant will open the FHSAA state playoffs against Orlando Freedom next Friday, while Robinson will take on Port Orange Atlantic.
Prediction: Plant 24, Robinson 13
