Wolford leads Crusader rally over Bears

FRUIT COVE -- Life after Ahmad Fulwood looks bright for Bishop Kenny.
Led by a monster performance from stud QB John Wolford, the Crusaders came back from a 19 point second half deficit to top the Bartram Trail Bears 47-43.
The star quarterback put up 569 yards of total offense and accounted for six touchdowns, none more important than an 11 yard strike to Anthony Farmand with 20 seconds left to secure the last second victory.
Wolford started the game hot, running and throwing for scores as Bishop Kenny built a 21-point lead early in the second quarter. Then the Bears stormed back. PJ Blazejowski led a balanced Bears attack to 40 straight points in less than two quarters to put the Bears up 40-21.
Running back David Coleman dominated inside and Bartram Trail used speedy receivers Angel Torres and Anthony Young on reverses again and again to build up a three touchdown lead of their own.
Then Wolford surged back. Three consecutive touchdown drives, two with arm, one with his feet put Bishop Kenny back up by 1, 41-40 with just over seven minutes left.
Just when it looked like the Crusaders were going to slip out of St Johns County with a win, Blazejowski drove the Bears down to the ten yard line and set up a go-ahead field goal with 1:37 to play.
Wolford took the field at his own 35 with less than two minutes to play and no timeouts, down 2 points on the road. Easy. He scrambled for big yardage on consecutive plays then tossed it to Farmand in the back corner of the end zone with 20 seconds left on the scoreboard.
Wolford finished the night with 26 completions on 43 attempts for 419 yards passing and four touchdowns through the air. He added 144 yards and two more scores with his legs on 15 runs and did not turn the ball over.
Bartram Trail's PJ Blazejowski put up a respectable 188 yards on 14 completions from his 26 attempts, throwing two touchdowns and two interceptions and adding two rushing touchdowns.
