For the second time in two days, the Florida men's basketball program has landed a much sought after prospect -- class of 2018 four-star guard Noah Locke. A sharpshooter from Baltimore, who attends McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md., Locke is ranked the No. 63 prospect in the Rivals150.

Locke, a 6-foot-2 guard with a 6-foot-8 wingspan, had close to 40 scholarship offers, chose Florida over Michigan, Ohio State, Providence, Xavier, Kansas, Maryland, Notre Dame, Virginia and more.

A three level scorer, Locke excels off the catch but can get his off the bounce as well. Playing in the most competitive travel circuit, the Nike EYBL, he connected on 53-of-113 three pointers (47 percent) this year. He has the look of a valuable four-year contributor in the SEC.

Basketball is the family business for the Locke family. His dad is a former D1 women’s assistant coach at Washington and Coppin State. His older brother, Kayel, is now playing professionally overseas and starred at UNC-Greensboro from 2012-2016.

Team Melo Recruiting Coordinator Dwayne Wise has known Locke since he was ten years old. We asked for his thoughts about Locke.

"With Locke you are getting a winner who led us to Peach Jam at 16U and 17U," Wise said. "The kid is a top notch student that's deadly from the perimeter."

Locke, who should make an early impact next season at Florida, joins five-star Montverde Academy point guard Andrew Nembhard as the first two members of the Gators 2018 recruiting class.

The Gators are not done just yet, as they remain involved with four-star small forward Khavon Moore, four-star power forward Filip Petrusev, four-star power forward Emmitt Williams and four-star wing Keyontae Johnson. Florida also went in-home with five-star guard Anfernee Simons following his de-commitment from Louisville. Johnson is scheduled to visit Florida this weekend and a Gators coach will visit Williams on this week.
